Description:

"Enterprise Library for Microsoft .NET 1.x has been a smashing success with two releases and over 150K downloads. The June 2005 release is compatible with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, but many of you are eagerly awaiting this next release of Enterprise Library which is specifically designed for .NET 2.0. In this webcast, we discuss how Enterprise Library has evolved to a true .NET 2.0 library."

The Composite UI Application Block - October 2005 CTP is now available

New or updated features:

  • Codebase updated to use .NET 2.0 Release Candidate (Build 2.0.50727.26)
  • Usability and simplification of the API: check out the startup sequence in CAB and new helper initialization classes (look at BankTeller Quickstart for details)
  • New dependency injection mechanism. This is probably transparent to most of you. If you have extended CAB in any way before (like writing your own monitors, then this is important)
    Improved performance
  • New improved documentation (although the final release will include much richer one)

This patch should be applied to Enterprise Library January 2005 if you have built or are building applications compiled in .NET Framework 1.1 using Enterprise Library, and you may wish to run these applications using the .NET Framework 2.0. More details are available in the Readme file in the Documentation section of this site.
